Miami’s acclaimed Mediterranean restaurant is finally making its way to New York. The cult-favorite spot, adored for its vibrant kosher-style dishes, award-winning Mediterranean flair, and 100% seed oil–free cooking, will debut its first NYC outpost on Monday, September 15, in the Flatiron District.
A Taste of Miami in Manhattan
Motek, Hebrew for “Sweetheart,” has won over South Florida with its bright, sunny design, warm hospitality, and bold Eastern Mediterranean flavors. Now, New Yorkers will finally get to try the cherished family recipes that made it famous, including:
- Whole Mediterranean branzino
- Crispy chicken schnitzel with harissa aioli
- Award-winning Arayes burger
- Shakshuka and all-day brunch classics
- Middle Eastern dumplings & Turkish lamb kebabs
- Labneh dips and fresh-baked laffa straight from the oven
And yes, the Miami-famous $5 happy hour is coming to NYC too.
Clean Cooking, Certified Seed Oil-Free
This restaurant is part of Happy Corner Hospitality, one of the first U.S. groups awarded the Seed Oil Free Certified™ seal. Instead of industrial seed oils, every dish is made with olive oil, avocado oil, and real butter—a rare promise in NYC dining.
From Miami Favorite to NYC’s New Hotspot
Since launching in Downtown Miami in 2020, it has amassed a cult following and grown to seven South Florida locations in Coral Gables, Brickell, Downtown Miami, South Beach, Miami Beach, Aventura, and Boca Raton, building a loyal following for its sunshine-yellow spaces and shareable Mediterranean plates.
Founder Charlie Levy, who lived in NYC for 20 years before moving to Miami, stated:
Miami is often called the sixth borough of New York, so expanding here feels like a natural next step. We’ve built a loyal following in Florida, and after countless requests to bring Motek to New York, now is the right time.
Rapid NYC Expansion Plans
Motek isn’t stopping at Flatiron–four more locations are already in the works:
- Williamsburg (168–170 Wythe Ave.) — opening later this year
- 928 Broadway — opening later this year
- Upper West Side (2178 Broadway) — opening in 2026
- Sesame Bakery in Battery Park — a fast-casual bakery concept with Mediterranean flair
